2015 Larz Anderson Auto Museum Corvette Day

The dew lay in droplets on the grass in my backyard as my driver, Justin Richard, and I started our trip for Corvette Day at the Lars Anderson Automotive Museum. The Miata began with a rip and rev forgetting that it was a mere 6 am on a Sunday.

Today, I would be spending the day with a group of friends as we rallied from the Burlington Mall into Brookline. Rolling shots of these beauties were expected and a must, and as always safety is of the utmost importance. With my friends, we discussed how we were going to organize the shots while driving on the highway.

We rolled into the museum on that hot, sunny day, and I was beyond happy that I got the picture. As the event continued, I began to think of my next layout for the Corvettes that I was going to take. Since it was Corvette Day and the different years and decades were represented in the show, this would give me the perfect opportunity to get a model from different decades for a memorable shot on the front lawn with the museum in the background. After scouting the area for rare cars of each era, I was able to narrow down seven cars I would use for the shot. I wanted the layout of the shot not to be sequential by decade. I wanted the cars to be in a different layout since often they are viewed in order.

I feel there is something to be said about comparing the models a few decades apart, as to more clearly see the differences, subtle and striking. The features that have stayed throughout the decades are true. All the drivers of the cars were happy to be a part of the shoot and were accommodating as I placed them on the lawn of the museum. It sometimes takes a few tries to position the cars, but the result was perfect. The shoot on the lawn and the rolling shots were a success. The owners were patient and helpful, and I was able to make it memorable. Keeping it to the details.
